How To Avoid Emotional Rollercoasters

The number one tip that helped me overcome my emotional rollercoasters.
1

The other day I wrote about the process and cycle of Emotional Rollercoasters. What they look like, and how we can easily get pulled into the emotional ride. The process that worked for me may take some time for it to become your first response, but with patience, you will notice a difference in how you feel. Today, I will guide you through how to avoid emotional rollercoasters altogether.

Let's say you're facing a situation where you've been pursuing a dream of yours for some years now, and you don't feel that you're making the progress you want. You start questioning yourself, wondering if you should continue pursuing your dreams, and even find yourself comparing your journey with someone else. When you hit this point, it's time to make a hard stop so your thoughts don't lead you into an emotional rollercoaster. For every negative thought or comment you made about yourself or your journey in life, I want you to replace that with a positive one. Take a deep look at all the good and wonderful things you have going on in your life. Focus on those positive things, and it will redirect your energy into happy thoughts, creating a stable emotional state.

I'm not saying to ignore your feelings whatsoever. I'm saying you don't have to sit in those negative feelings for long. You deserve to be happy. So, give yourself grace as you navigate this wonderful gift called life, and always remember to be purposely you!
