The Truth About Change

It all sounds good until it’s time to put it into action.

Since I wrote my last post, Change Begins Within; I’ve been experiencing being in an uncomfortable in-between stage. It’s the stage where you’re stuck between not wanting to do what you used to do and trying to figure out what needs to be done next. In that post, I mentioned that in order to see an external difference, we have to make an internal change — which is still very true. I’ve spent weeks paying attention to what I really want to do in life and how to achieve it. It became a game of tug of war with my emotions and having to make a decision, back and forth on ideas and plans of how to transition from one thing to the other and how to advance in other areas of my life that are already established. My brain was on overload, and I realized that changing is exhausting.

The beauty about being purposely you is that you are allowed to take your time to figure it out, and you don’t have to have things figured out in order to be your true self. The journey with self is about paying attention to your internal guide and listening when it says, “hey, it’s time for a change,” and going through the motions of getting to said change. On that note, be kind and gentle with yourself as you make changes in your life, and always be purposely you.
